A free micro-masters experience in space
The ROSPIN Academy programme is designed for anyone aspiring to learn about the space sector and join the industry. The primary target are undergraduate, masters or doctoral students enrolled in technical universities, but professionals are also welcome. Following the 2026 edition, all three levels are now open for free to everyone on SpacedIn.
Making space attractive & accessible
The vision for the ROSPIN Academy education programme is to continuously make space attractive to its participants, to offer them a context to understand the sector's complexity, depth and level of international collaboration, as well as to prepare them to join the sector.
ROSPIN Academy offers a free of charge micro-masters experience for the participants on the SpacedIn platform. Lectures are delivered in English and highlight the personal experience and expertise of the speakers, bringing elements that cannot be found in books.
Pre-recorded Lectures
Each lecture is available on ROSPIN's SpacedIn platform with an associated quiz (70% to pass).
Self-Paced & Free
All three levels are now open for free to everyone — learn at your own pace and earn a certificate at each level.
Three levels, ten weeks
Progress through increasingly advanced content, from industry basics to spacecraft subsystem engineering.
Level 1: Intro to the Space Sector
7 lecturesA set of lectures meant to introduce the participant into the workings of the space industry and set the context for the more technical lectures that follow.
Start Level 1 for freeLevel 2: Space Mission Architecture
4 lectures + individual reportA set of lectures meant to provide systems level context for the participants. It goes into the thinking behind systems engineering and tackles every major system budget.
Start Level 2 for freeLevel 3: Spacecraft Subsystem Engineering
8 lectures + group projectA set of lectures that goes into every spacecraft subsystem, details their design thinking and major elements.

ROSPIN Academy offers a curriculum brought by 19 speakers from Romania, other European countries, the US and South America. Our speakers have experience at the highest level of the space industry and in world renowned institutions.
The Space Project Brief
The best part of ROSPIN Academy is that participants get to apply what they learn as they go. At the start of the programme, they chose from three space mission design briefs and worked towards a complete mission architecture.
The challenge ran in two stages: an individual phase, where each participant developed preliminary mission concepts independently, followed by a team phase, where multidisciplinary teams transformed those concepts into complete mission architectures.
The three briefs for the 2026 edition were:
Mars Communications & Science Constellation
Very Low Earth Observation (VLEO) Constellation
Active Debris Removal & Satellite Servicing
The people behind the mission
ROSPIN Academy is powered by a dedicated organizing team of space enthusiasts and educators who volunteer their time and expertise to make this program possible.
